Hi everyone, A friend who knows I have been on the hunt for Mississippi River pearls sent me some pics of a strand we think might be some. I can tell they are dirty, but do they look like river pearls or are they imposters masquerading as something old? Thank you

May I ask where you find the vintage clasps? I have a natural strand coming to me claspless and want something old for it.

Those are really pretty pearls. I can't wait to see mine, but I think it's going to be awhile if there's a stringer back up since the 12 inch strand I bought needed some extra work.

If the 16 inch strands knot out to around 18 inches, is it safe to assume knotting adds 2 inches? That would make my 12 inch 14 inches and wearable w/o an extender. Mia is going to email me with some ideas so I'm waiting to hear what they come up with.

On the untreated akoyas, I got a confirmation email then got another email about 30 minutes later saying it had been double sold.

I see I was beaten to it. I will warn you these really didn't photograph well, which is why I think they didn't sell as well as the white and lavendar baroques, but I am very pleased with mine.

I'm not sure how big your pearl is, but that 9 carat diamond was about the size of a nickel. It did not fill the bottom "bowl", just the top. You certainly have a mystery piece. Antiques Roadshow coming your way anytime soon? :D
