    Is this a Mikimoto brooch

Bab4444, trust your instincts. I am not an expert but I have a few vintage Mikimoto brooches and none of them are set like this. One of the things I like about their brooches apart from the pearls of course, is the very clean setting - nearly all prong set with no excess glue ever. Also...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Jeg, I love this too. I like the way the pearls dangle from the bracelet. What are the little briolettes used on the PP tincup?

Pearl Dreams I love the lustre on those - they have a certain glow to them. So those are tissue nucleated (i.e. all nacre) CFWs?

JEG there is no way from where I am sitting halfway across the world, that you are redundant. Inspirational and definitely aspirational yes - redundant no! I love the outfits and pearls that you put together. I don't often say much but a little sigh usually escapes me as I gaze upon what...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

On my reading of 5.106 that would preclude anybody using the term "freshwater keshi" as it specifically says "marine pearl oysters". Gee that seems to have gone out the window. Jeg those golden SS keshi are gorgeous - though I am not sure that they qualify as "poppy seeds"! :)

    Eureka, Elizabeth Strack's Pearls

Gee pearlgirl12, congratulations on obtaining it but I think that they are charging a premium and eating into your pearl dollars. I am not even going to comment on the Amazon price. If anybody else is after this book, I had a good experience in obtaining it in 2020 from Karl Fischer GMBH...

    My "Pearling" Story...

That is so lovely. Are they 4mm rondelles? That is such a lot of work getting those threaded up to match each other when invariably the beads are cut every so slightly in different widths. Well done!

HALLMARK(S) ON CLASP OF PEARL NECKLACE

I think it is an early mark for Tasaki. There is a lot of information when you search for it on the internet.

    First pearl stringing!

That is sensational as a first attempt Appalachianmama. I particularly like the thread colour switch so that it is tonal rather than contrasting and how you can wear the clasp as a focal. Great effort.

Stringing Tutorial with photos: Stringing on Serafil, Beaders Secret & Power Pro

Pattye thank you so much for this hint about using a rigid pin to make a channel. I had never thought to do that believing that if it wasn't going to take the finest needle it wouldn't allow for anything else, not taking into consideration the rigidity. I will give this a go in future...
