Is this a 1cm sized pearl? If so, is it millions of years old?

I found what appears to be a pearl based on the research I’ve been doing. I found it outside, no where near water. It was in the same area where a lot of marine life fossils from the Paleozoic period in Oklahoma have been found. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't look ancient in any way. Looks like a regular cultured pearl.
Have you tested it in any way?

Are you sure it’s a pearl? It looks more like a factory-made thing to me. Does it have a drill hole?

Cool to have access to a fossil area!!

Define tested? I did some of what the internet lists to try. It bounces pretty high, like a foot maybe 2. It did not smell or burn under a flame 😬. I don’t think it feels gritty but I don’t think my known to be a pearl feels gritty.

No, I am not sure at all. I know next to nothing about pearls. It does not have any drill holes or anything that indicates it was set or fixed to anything. I didn’t know pearls even got this big so I assumed it to be man made as well. However, the luster and density seem consistent with my experience of pearls so I’ve been perplexed for a few weeks now and have thought about taking it to a jewelry store and asking but Luckily I found you guys.

Caused me to check the WWW, and indeed this is a pearl test to be found on the information superhighway.

So, a method no longer reserved for bad checks…

Let us know if you learn anything more.

It looks artificial to me; the crackles in the surface are suspicious. I imagine it was lost by someone else wandering the area.
