Thanks for your reply! I am not sure if there are so many bead shops where I live. I found one store but they sold strands, not loose pearls. I will have a look at The Curious Gem to see if I can find something there (I think I will have to buy online).

I have seen such a lovely pearl strand with freshwater pearls mixed with gemstones but it very pricey (from a "designer brand"). I am sure something similar could be done if the gemstone beads could be sourced. Does someone know a good source for such beads? Thanks in advance for your help!

That is really good! The photo from the auction was certainly not very representative. I hope whoever is buying the strand has seen it IRL before placing the bid.

That thread on Pricescope was great! And also, I saw a few strands there with the colours I am looking for so it seems to be possible to find what I want. It is really good to see that Pearl Paradise has so good photos!

I am following them both :) I surely know what to ask for when it comes to photos. This was such an "awakening". I never thought it could be this huge difference. It in fact looked like another stand on the other photos I got. As for online vendors I only have experience from Pearl Paradise.

Now I have photos that I believe much better given more true to reality. Do you still believe the colours are considered "good"? It is quite a big difference from the first picture and I honestly don't know what the colours are the Fiji-pearls look like in reality...

That is a great advice! Thanks to you I have asked for additional photos. I assume if the pearls are somewhere near the photo and real undyed Tahitian pearls, the price would be rather "good" but it is certainly a risk as there is no guarantee (even if they say the truly believe they are undyed...

I asked this "are the photos representative regarding the colour of the pearls?" and this was the reply "And yes the colours are good in the pictures, perhaps even better." I am not sure of if this confirms studio lighting / ideal light conditions and that "what you see is not what you get".

It is a good question. I have asked if the photo gives a representative view of the colours. I am still a bit nervous so I don't know if I dare to put in a bid...
