Bubbles bubbles bubbles! I would love a bubbly strand one day! The vintage akoya look like champagne akoya - out of interest, is there a noticeable difference between what’s vintage vs newly-produced champagne?

After posting about my big stud journey (haha thanks @BWeaves for the chuckle), I decided to wear them with my ombré soufflé T and WSS bracelet + silver bracelet = necklace combination. The T stud is not round and you can kinda tell from the side profile shot, but I’m not prepared to spend $$$...

Wow your blue Takahashi akoyas are an impressive size @jeg ! @PearlyLibrarian your ear stack looks great! I personally wouldn’t go smaller and completely agree that PSS is a thing. Maybe because I don’t wear pearl studs on a daily basis (I’m too lazy to take off earrings when I exercise or...

To go with my blue stripy shirt, I paired my blue baroque akoya bracelet linked with a chunky silver bracelet, worn as a necklace. I really like how the silver links give an edge to pearls!

This Sea Glass strand is exquisite! Out of interest, why is it called Sea Glass? I don’t think I’ve ever seen such soap bubble-y Tahitians before! To have so many different pastel overtones (pink, green, blue, champagne) in a strand is amazing! I’ve seen soap bubble-y akoya but not T’s, and...

Definitely go for it! I have a chunky silver bracelet that I bought especially to wear as the “other half” of a pearl necklace - the best thing is that it works with all my pearl bracelets (I have three - ombré Tahitian, bubble Tahitian and blue baroque akoya), but my favourite is the ombré...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Over the holiday period, I discovered a new favourite way to wear pearls: as a belt! I connected a strand of drop shaped akoya (7-8mm) with a strand of Tahitians to form the pearl belt and highlight the baby bump :)

    Japan trip - Pearls edition

RE: black knots - I didn't actually pay attention to this so I'm not sure! But I bought unfinished strands (I don't know the correct terminology for this - basically a string of pearls with no knotting and no clasp) and had my Tahitians strung with black knots when I got back to China. And the...

Here is my ombré soufflé Tahitian baroque bracelet, pearls chosen by me from a little tub at General Pearl in Tokyo when I visited Japan for a short trip (pearls were drilled and strung after I got home). Getting to hand-pick each one whilst chatting with the son of General Pearl’s founder (who...

    Japan trip - Pearls edition

When my husband was in Japan for a conference, I jumped on the opportunity to take a short solo ‘pearls and jewels’ trip. Here is my itinerary - hopefully you’ll find it useful if you’re ever in Japan and want to do something pearly. TLDR: Day 1: Osaka - meet Flower Jem (pearl vendor on...

Show Us Your Pearls In Action!!!

Strand of Tahitians I bought in Kobe when I visited nearly two months ago (!). I need to do a write up of my trip as I had an amazing time doing pearl and jewellery related things. It’s interesting how the centre pearl looks obviously off-round when placed down, but is not so obvious when...

What beautiful GSS keshis @jeg ! The way the colours range from a light champagne to almost a rose gold tone. Just delightful 😍
