Hi everyone, if a freshwater pearl comes out of a clam with a hole that has some dirt in it, is there any solution to clean or brighten it? How does one clean out or polish out rot holes or spots? Thank you.
Does anyone know what kind of freshwater pearl these are? They’re off-round with a mainly copper body colour but are multicoloured… very interesting in my opinion
I received this baroque where the shiny part of the pearl fades quite abruptly, as can be seen around the top edge. Is this a likely example of coating?

Oh ok, I trust this seller then as I’ve soaked one of their pearls in acetone and the pearl didn’t warp nor did the color change apart from slight dulling.

Some of my freshwater pearls appear to have scratches. I’m just curious how they form.
When I tried to scratch pearls myself, they didn’t seem easy to scratch.
I also had one seller who custom drilled 3 baroques for me and cracked or fractured all of them in the process.

I’ve also ordered fireball rings, pendants and bracelets but for the really nice ones I’m reluctant to risk drilling them. I do want to get a fireball pendant using a fireball pearl of the colouring as pictured though! Think they look much better on me than the typical pastel coloured ones...
